Playa Samara was the most amazing place I've ever been. I spent one month studying there and an extra week just to stay after. My family was amazing! They tried so hard to convince me to stay longer, but we had to compromise with me agreeing to come back next summer. All the teachers were SO AMAZING and the staff was sooo friendly. I had good contact with the school and they set up a lot for me. It took some effort to get to Samara (the buses were interesting) but it was worth it! This is an amazing school to learn Spanish in!

I just finished 2 weeeks at this school and I learned a ton of Spanish. But they don't learn it for you, you have to do the work! The teachers are awesome and the mood is positive. the town is small and there are a handful of places to go out bu there is plenty to do--surfing, swimming, see the sights, hang out with the other students. The overall deal is that it is a positive and fun place where you may learn a bunch, if you apply yourself. Although it is a very small town, you need to keep your big city wits about you, Just as you wouldn't leave yourstuff in an unlocked room in New York or Berlin, so it is here. There were a couple of petty thefts during the time I was there.; But just showing the same care you use when traveling in the United States or Europe should keep you and yourself together for the trip. Go, plan to study a couple of hours a day, and bring 2 swimsuits, lots of DEET and a good sized jug of sunscreen. You will have a blast!

The instruction moves at an extremely fast pace. They tend to do groups in class which can make some feel like outcasts. Think elementary school and getting chosen last for the team! Little regard for student concerns especially regarding the housing. Watch your belongings some had problems with items being stolen even while they slept. Some had great home stay experiences. Luck of the draw:) They will not make changes if your home stay doesn't work out so be prepared.
