Beautiful place to stay. Tutoring quality varies greatly with each tutor.

We had first class instructors, and the learning environment -- comfortable cubicles surrounded by beautiful garden -- was very inviting. We stayed in the apartments at the school. Yes, there are lots of places that cost less, but we loved the convenience and ambience. We didn't encounter a "let's go party crowd" at the school -- mostly (semi) retired North Americans who had lots of adventures to tell and amazing life experiences to share.

I have studied at San Jose three different times and have also tried 3 or 4 other schools, and I find the quality at San Jose far above all the others. As with any school, your success will depend on your teacher. I'd recommend Sivlia de Martinez, Silvia Maron, Marta Julia Castellanos, Luis (last name?), Isabel de Toscano, Isabel Asturiez. The cubicles allow enough space to hear your teacher and be heard easily, the gardens are lovely, and the teachers have a lot of experience. I do feel that their casitas, while very convenient, are very over-priced and you are better off to stay with a family or live in an apartment. I highly recommend this school.

WIFI , unlimited free coffee daily, and flexible schedule available. Teachers with years of experience and a variety of teaching methods. Hostel 2 minute's walk away if you want to go cheaply.
