I really enjoyed my visit to Guatemala, and one of the main reasons was that I had a great experience at Maximo Nivel. There were a lot of reasons to like Maximo Nivel, including: 1) The teachers are friendly and experienced, 2) all the employees are friendly and helpful, 2) the cost is low, 3) the building is very pleasant, 4) they have computers and wifi for the students, 5) they provide free Monday-evening salsa lessons, 6) they have a little commissary right there, 7) there is also a trusted travel agency on the premises, and 8) they provide a kind of home-base for their students, offering 24-hour support and advice. On top of all that, I was impressed with the range of programs they offer: 1) They teach Spanish to foreigners 2) They teach English to locals, 3) The train teachers of English as a second language, 4) And they coordinate, organize and support people who come to Guatemala to volunteer.

I have just about completed 8 weeks of intensive Spanish as intermediate-advanced student. I have had four teachers here, and all were very good. They took a lot of pride in their work, and made every effort to diagnose and address my weaknesses, in order to accelerate the learning process. The facility and the support staff are quite friendly and supportive. It felt like a home away from home, and I'm glad I went with Maximo.

Very professional school located a block from the Central park in Antigua. Their grounds and classrooms are lovely and the quality of instruction was excellent. They have a terrific staff that did a great job arranging several excursions for me so I could pack in everything I wanted to do in the 9 days I was there. I have to say that my stay at Máximo Nivel was an unforgettable experience! From the day I arrived until the day that I left, I had the feeling that I was personally taken care of. Everything was well organized and easy to find. If I had any questions, the staff made sure I had an answer. Also the free time activities offered by Guinness Travel were amazing! Many thanks to Jessica and Danika for being great guides and Giovanni for bringing us there safely! Through Máximo Nivel I have met amazing new people and friends, all with their own unique story! My wife and I spent two weeks studying with Maximo Nivel. We were very impressed with the kindness and efficiency of the office staff, with the layout of the facilities and with the overall instructional progamme. We liked the fact that Maximo is involved in the community doing projects both in and around Antigua. Because we had done volunteer work in Africa and South America it was important to us to choose a school with a social conscience. We each took 2 hours of private lessons (we would have preferred a small class but they were not available) followed by another 2 hours in a voluntary "tandem" programme with a partner who was fluent in Spanish and wanting to learn English, in a conversational format. Our partners were arranged by the school and the amount of time we conversed each day was mutually agreed upon, it could have more than two hours, it could have been less. Half of each session was in English, half was in Spanish and there was no cost! It was a great way to build your listening and speaking skills with someone who was as eager to learn English as we were to learn Spanish. Later in the afternoon, or in the evening, we would do our homework at in the courtyard garden because it was a wonderful setting and because there was a tutor in one of the classrooms who was available to all students from 9:00 in the morning until 9:00 at night. Instant feedback is a good thing! Also, there was a computer lab on site for the use of students,and there was always someone in the office until late at night. That is a lot of support for the cost of two hours of private lessons per day. We have studied at three language schools in Peru and two in Ecuador, this was the best organized and offered the best value for the dollar.

The native Spanish program at Maximo Nivel was awesome!! My teacher Evelyn was so great, and very patient with me when I made errors. Antigua is my 2nd home and I encourage everyone to come check it out! The staff at Maximo Nivel was so kind and helpful whenever I had questions. I didn't have any issues at all while I was there, but it was great knowing that Maximo was available 24/7. Go! Study Spanish! I 100% recommend this program.
