Evaluation from Lovetotravel:
Great family. Love Tio and Mama Chiata. Don't stay at the house because you'll never be able to study. Too many students and family members. Gets quiet after 10pm. You become one of the family but remember what comes along with that. Food is 5 stars. Great teachers except for 1 or 2. Alma the coordinator is wonderful, helpful and alot a fun. Take a taxi instead of Sergio if you need transportation its 3-4x's cheaper and just as safe.
Evaluation from altilley:
Spent four wonderful weeks here, had a nice host family and improved my spanish a lot. Very good value for the money. Interesting and lively city.
Evaluation from cindylou:
Have studied previously at Pop Wuj and Academia Seville...had a great experience at both places. Wanted something new. The school was very unhelpful, it is not run professionally. Look elsewhere, although I liked my teacher and the garden.! A horrible experience, truly.
Evaluation from Claroquesi:
J'ai bien aimé mon expérience à cet école. La directrice Gladis est un amour. Une très belle solidarité entre les enseignants qualifiés. Carmen Gauthier, Quebec
Evaluation from pennit:
I spent 6 weeks there in 2011 and am just trying to decide whether to go back or go elsewhere. It is a large and chaotic family home indeed! spanish being spoken all the time so proper immersion. I stayed with a lovely family very nearby as the school was full (it only could sleep 3 or 4 students I think at that time). The garden is lovely and you can do your lessons there and also stay or visit whenever you like which is great. As others have said, food is amazing! I only really knew 2 of the teachers in terms of their teaching ability. Others said they were probably the best two, and both were certainly good.

This school is outstanding! If you are looking for in-depth study of Spanish you need not look any further. It is a small school where you get lots of attention. The family is absolutely the best and you really are a member of the family. Classes begin and end on time, which is hard to find at other schools. The teachers are all highly trained maestros -- no university students used as emergency teachers on staff here. You need to be ready to study at this school. I f you want to pick up a few phrases and party, I suggest you go to another school. If you want to learn Spanish and Guatemalan culture, I do not know why you would go anywhere else. Regardless of the number of students -- the activities continue! There is not another school in Guatemala that does this. Most require at least five students before any activities will be scheduled. I was the only student during one week and I had afternoon activities each day! The entire family is at your disposal to practice your new skills. Tio Lionel may not think so, but he is also a maestro, who has the patients of a saint. And if you want to relax, Poochies is always available for a game of fetch in the garden. I have to warn you, you may want to lose five pounds before you attend this school. Gladis and Mama Chilata are both excellent cooks and you will gain weight! Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Bd0417@excite.com
